Style Files: Vintage 50's Dress!

I love this vintage floral dress I got from a thrift shop. It's a shop Mich and I discovered while waiting for rain to stop after we bought some groceries at our local market. I had the length altered, but other than it's purrrfect! I will be putting it on sale on my online store after we get back form our trip next week!

(pasensya na sa pics wasted na eh haha)

... did I mention that it's only P35? :) YEEEEEEEP!

The Best Things in Life are FREE!

... the other day someone from Loreal called me (thanks a lot Vian haha) asking me to come for an interview for their product Garnier. She said they need some testimonials for maybe a commercial or advertisement in the future or just for documentation or reference. So yesterday I went to Crowne Plaza in Ortigas to get it over with. I came in and 2 nice people from a research firm greeted me. Sam (the nice girl who interviewed me) asked me about 20 questions (I'm not sure but it seemed like forever haha) about my usage, my opinions, and whatever shits. Bottomline---I said over and over that it is effective (I've been using their brightening eye roll-on for 2 months and it really is effective!) and I would recommend them to others. After the interview (my chair had sweat marks! Guess I'm still videocam shy. :P) they gave me a cool Garnier giftpack. Here's my lootbag:

... I love freebies! Haha!

Online Finds: TOPSHOP PEA COAT

... a lovely denim-ish cropped coat I bought in Ebay! It's good as new (seller said it's never used) and I only paid P300 for it. :) Of course when you buy online there's this risk that the item might be slightly smaller or bigger than your size (and it is slightly bigger even if it's a sz 6) but then I could always have it altered by my favorite tailor (yes I have my clothes altered by a man and they're perfect).

Which reminds me I have 3 dresses to pick up and 2 more for fixing (plus this). Argh.

Post-Saturday

So last Saturday before going to 6th for JD's bday Michelle and I went around Megamall first. Our supposed to be window shopping turned to little purchases. Here are my loots:

1) Yellow belt (from SM) - P129.75
2) Bag Organizer (from SM) - P129.75 (very very handy!)
3) Garnier lightening face wash
4) Body Recipe Papaya Body Scrub (for my siko!!!) - P180
5) Fanny Serrano eyelash curler - P175

I promised myself I won't be buying things anymore, since I only have 1 week to save more shopping money for Thailand! Argh. Sucks. But then here's my new flipflops from PRP (it's on sale! P99!). And a dress I really wanted (sighs).

So anyway, Mich rewarded her boredom of going in and out of girly stores with me by some self-pampering (lucky me kasali ako! haha). We went to Foot for the Gods. We waited 30 mins before we were served. You'll be surprised as to the amount of people who's willing to spend hundreds or thousands just to de-stress! Almost all beauty centers are full! So there, I had my foot spa and Mich had her foot reflexology. It was alright but not really worth it for P420. Especially after when Mich started teasing me that I have a crush on his masseuse! Yaaaak! Sabi ko lang naman hawig ni Piolo pero mas chaka ng 5x! And as always, nastress ako sa massage na naman. Haha. Next time we'd like to try Red Bamboo Spa at Riverbanks.

Oh, stress!

...Mich said that's not all of our shoes. They're sprawled everywhere. Need a bigger shoe cabinet. Boo.

This Shit is Bananas!!!

Today, more than half of our sales force was retrenched. Company decided to axe 'em coz the ratio of manpower to leads (or new customers) is not realistically equal. So they say. This is the nth time they axed their workforce. Each time promises are made (that still end up broken), parties thrown and the few men standing instead of swimming in relief feels otherwise (oh yeah we're drowning). I am ready to go anytime. I've said that exactly a year ago since the 2nd retrenchment. BUT, I'm still here. One of us was also axed. And she left with a huge smile on her face (she was offered more than what she expected!). And we, the ones who were left behind, can't help but feel jealous and a lil trapped. I'd trade places with her anytime! I want moolah! Haha. Don't get me wrong I love my job BUT I really can't stand the way some people manage others. My superior asked me what people honestly think about what just happened, if we're okay etc. etc. And since I've always been vocal about things I thought why should I sugarcoat my answer just to make others feel better or less guilty. So I told him this:

"That people are okay, they're just thankful they are not the ones leaving. BUT in general?
Worried a little. Coz they dont know how its all gonna end or turn out. But i think it wont stop them from working or completing their tasks".

He never replied again after that. Oh well. I'll keep on waiting for my time to come. I just wish by then they won't file for bankruptcy-- 'coz that would totally suck.

One day I persistently asked Lyndsay our web designer to wear her fierce shoes--and voila! (Shy type pala ang lola)...

Eye Candy

... I just finished Season 1 of STYLISTA--luuurve it! I'm just glad Megan or Katie didn't win, argh such drama queens! So now we're back to our Ghost Whisperer marathon. We're now on Season 3 and I can feel Jim's death getting nearer every episode. Aw.

I'm still waiting for Mich (she got some clothes in her apartment) and I'm hooked on The Rachel Zoe Project. The things I do (like accumulate eyebags) for fashion!

Pre-Vacation : Thailand

...so after weeks of holding off reservations and other things Mich and I finally booked a hotel and tours for our June 5 Thai vacay. After countless days of browsing over 1 million hotels we finally settled for one that we didn't even think about. I just came across the website yesterday thought the place looks new, asked Mich then which she exclaimed "Book! Book!". And so we did. Haha. We're finally staying at Ecotel Bangkok and I'm hoping it looks better in actual.

If you want discounted rooms and tours I advise you to book via HotelThailand.com. They can arrange hotel bookings, tours, transportations, etc. for you. We were able to get a discounted room and a free city tour (we chose The Royal Grand Palace tour)!

We also booked for the Ayutthaya World Heritage Tour (coz we just love ruins!).

And the River Kwai with Elephant Safari and Bamboo Rafting Tour. It's a lil expensive but I think it's worth it since we'd be abe to see many places. And I'd be able to see the Death Railway and War Cemetery! (remember how I'm so obsessed with war shits?!) Haha, fun.

And then of course shopping shopping shopping. And Siam Oceanpark! We still have 2 weeks to go and Mich still doesn't have her DOST clearance (she needs it to be able to get out of the country since she was a government scholar and a Cum Laude! Gusto ko lng isingit haha). I am now excited even with 2 reported swine flu cases. So what!!!! I have high hopes.:)

Online Shopping: Peep-Toe Snakeskin Pumps

..I have a valid reason for this new buy! As you know, I wasn't able to buy the nice strappy shoes I blogged about a few days ago (and because I got sad like I said), I found a substitute! It's cheaper and the style is different but nevertheless I still love it. Can't wait to get a hold of it! Yum!

Bad Vibes

I love my work. BUT there are some people I work with that I just hate. Argh. How can some peoples' presence make my day gloomy in one snap of a finger? How can there be real-life dementors (as in those big scary black flying guys in Harry Potter who sucks the life out of people). I am living by my favorite incantation today:

"I bind you ____ from doing harm, harm against other people and harm against yourself."

..minus the picture and some ribbon. But maybe I'd find some props later and really concentrate.

Oh, slight flicker of hope.

@ Punta Fuego--Mother's Day Weekend

We celebrated Mother's Day at Peninsula de Punta Fuego last May 9-10. Brian's house is AMAZING. We all love it! I was with my immediate family (including Miles and Mich), Tita Car, Tito Neng, my cousin Chesca and Therese and of course JD. We really had a blast. My brother said it's bitin. Hehe. In fairness, he found the trip more fun than his computer! It did rain but that still didn't stop us from enjoying and swimming! But, we gave up when we can't see anymore because of the heavy rain. Hihi. There are a lot of things to do besides swimming anyway. We played billiards, watched dvd, drink wine, tease each other and chat to death. It was the perfect chill weekend (after a bad work week!)... we didn't worry about our food or who'd wash the dishes because there were helpers there who did everything for us. The view was also breathtaking. :)
