My Favorite Horror Flick: Thir13en Ghosts

I am not a fan of horror flicks. I am more of an I am Sam type of movie lover. In layman's term feel good movies. :) Goes with my sunshiney character. There are only a few scary movies I like and on the top of the list is: Thir13en Ghosts. I can watch this over and over again. It never ceased to amuse and yeah, scare me. The plot is somewhat surprising in the end although I've expected that the invitation for the main characters to stay in the glass house is a decoy. Eeeer, spoiler!

Overview: The movie opens with ghost hunter Cyrus Kriticos with his asst. Dennis (actor Matthew Lillard; remember Scooby Doo's bestfriend?) in a junkyard trying to catch the bad ass ghost "The Jaggernaut" (he's the one who scares the shit out of me everytime!). Many of Cyrus' men was killed and his throat also slashed. They were however able to entrap the ghost. The story then shifts to Cyrus' nephew Arthur (Tony Shaloub of Monk) who could be seen in the kitchen I'm not sure if he's reading a newspaper but I remember him on the phone with his uncles' lawyer telling him that his uncle Cyrus left him his house as inheritance. He took it as a blessing as he tried to desperately make ends meet since his wife died in a fire accident. So the next day his whole family moved to the "glass house". When they got to the mansion Dennis was also there pretending to be a power company employee and together they stepped in the house. They were awed by the priceless artifacts in the house as well as the movable and strangely shifting glass walls and floor inscribed with Latin phrases. So fast forward they soon discovered that the nice house was actually a house of terror. Dennis upon checking the basement and discovering that the ghosts Cyrus' entrapped before are still there warned Arthur about his uncle's deadly obsession. Arthur only believed him when a ghost (the jackal) attacked his daughter Kathy (Shannon Elizabeth of American Pie). His uncle's lawyer Ben was also there for the house tour but when they caught him stealing cash he went crazy and activated a mechanism that automatically sealed the house entrapping everyone and released the ghosts one by one. He died when one of the ghosts (Angry Princess) attacked him and when he tried to back off in one doorway, it snaps close and cut him in 2. When Arthur's kids mysteriously disappeared in the house he and Dennis teamed up to find them, armed with special goggles (that lets them see the invisible ghosts) and detachable walls (with latin phrases inscribed on them that shields and protects them from ghosts attack). They were saved from one ghost by Kalina O. who introduced herself as a spirit liberator. She then enlightened them of Cyrus' original plan that shocked Arthur. She disclosed that the house is actually a giant machine who's purpose is to open up a portal called "Ocularis Infernum" or eye of hell, which when done successfully allows its owner to see into the future. To achieve this it needs 13 ghosts, and the mansion already houses 12. It just only needs one and final ghost to complete the ritual. Not knowing that Cyrus is still alive and Kalina is actually his secret parter and lover they believed what she said..that if the 13th ghost dies as a sacrifice for pure love, the system will fail and shut down. In reality it will do the opposite and actually trigger the machine. Kalina dies when Cyrus betrayed her and the dynamic duo tries again to save the kids. It ends up with Dennis dying with a broken back when he got attacked by2 powerful ghosts (the Hammer&Jaggernaut). One of the saddest and most touching part of the story was when Arthur discovered that one of the ghosts is his wife, Jean. It was the 1st time he ever saw him after she died.
Moving on, Arthur then finds his kids finally. They were in the center of a dangerous sharp razor circling thingy, then Cyrus held Arthur at knife-point persuading (or more like forcing) him to jump in the deadly whirring razors for his kids. When he is about to that's when they got saved by their nanny Maggie when she broke down the control system and destroys the ghost summon tape leading to system breakdown. The ghosts then turned their anger towards Cyrus and killed him. Arthur then saves his children by leaping to the machine, with the help of Dennis' ghost. The glass house's walls then shattered to pieces releasing all ghosts including his wife's. It was sad when he and his kids finally had to say goodbye to his wife Jean. The movie ended with a dramatic and comedic resignation from their nanny Maggie.

So there! Watch it! And oh, the other thing I loved when I watched this movie is when the 12 ghosts were introduced. It was pretty scary and got my armhairs (eek!) raising. Check out wikipedia for complete details and to know the story behind their physique and characters as defined by their "death history". Here are the ghosts:

1. The First Born Son - is the ghost of a little boy who looks relatively normal – except for the arrow spiked through the middle of his forehead.
2. The Torso - wrapped in cellophane, he trundles through the basement accompanied by his decapitated head.
3. The Bound Woman-was a pretty cheerleader who was strangled on a prom date gone bad.
4. The Withered Lover - is the ghost of Jean (Arthur's wife) who perished in a fire. With half of her face and hands horribly burned and scarred, Jean wears a hospital gown and pulls an IV drip behind her.
5. The Torn Prince - is the ghost of a teenager who was wiped out in a car accident, he is quite handsome when viewed from the left, but the entire right side of his body and face are dramatically ripped and shredded, the result of his lethal road rash.
6. The Angry Princess - is the most subtlely disturbing of the ghosts. A young woman who committed suicide. She is completely nude, gashed from head to toe and drained of all blood.
7. The Pilgrimess - Accused of witchcraft, she was sentenced to die from exposure and the abuse of her fellow townspeople. In the afterlife, she is permanently locked in wooden stocks.
8. & 9. The Great Child and The Dire Mother - the demented mother manipulated her giant-sized baby in an attempt to create a monster son who would be capable of carrying out her elaborate revenge fantasies. The duo is comprised of a heavyset man wearing only an enormous diaper and a vomit-covered bib over his prodigious stomach, and a tiny woman whose aged and peeling face stands out in grotesque contrast to her girlish outfit and pony-tailed hair.
10. The Hammer - is the bloodthirsty spirit of a murderous blacksmith. His ghostly incarnation features spikes and nails embedded in his head and body, a large hammer bolted to his wrist in place of a hand, and chains enveloping his torso.
11. The Jackal - whose crazed face with its yellow eyes and deadly sharp fangs peers out through a rusty metal cage that has been locked around his head. An escapee from a turn-of-the-century lunatic asylum, this feral, hunched-over creature also sports a hideous set of lethally long claws.
12. The Juggernaut - is the most lethal ghost who died in a hail of bullets. As a result, in the afterlife his body is riddled with bullet holes from head to toe.
13. Willing Sacrifice

Nos. 10-12 are the ultimate angas ghosts! Haha! Just watch it. Enjoy. :)
* The Black Zodiac and the 12 ghosts. Waaaah!

My week long LSS: 4 in the Morning

by Gwen Stefani.

Waking up to find another day
The moon got lost again last night
But now the sun has finally had its say
I guess I feel alright

But it hurts when I think,
When I let it sink in
It's all over me.
I'm lying here in the dark
I'm watching you sleep, it hurts a lot.

And all I know is,
You've got to give me everything
Nothing less cause
You know I give you all of me.

I give you everything that I am
I'm handin' in everything that I've got
Cause I wanna have a really true love
Don't ever wanna have to go & give you up.
Stay up till 4 In The morning & the tears are pouring
& I want to make it worth the fight
What have we been doing for all this time?
Baby if we're gonna do it, come on do it right.

All I wanted was to know I'm safe
Don't want to lose the love I've found.
Remember when you said that you would change,
Don't let me down.
It's not fair how you are
I can't be complete, can you give me more?

Oh please, you know what I need.
Save all your love up for me
We can't escape the love
Give me everything that you have.

(Give you everything)
(Give you all of me)

... it's just one of those days when you feel that a specific song was specially made for you. Haha.

My New and Old Fam

My first job was in BPI as a teller. Two months after graduating from college having this orientation that bank jobs are fabulous and is the fresh way to start I applied in as many banks as possible. Haha. So as an excited and overwhelmed fresh grad I took the job, and I tell you the screening process was hell! We had to undergo an exam wherein the game was a 4 round emilination. After every test names were called and then "bye bye so sorry you didn't make it you had to leave". I was lucky to have surpassed all 4 tests. It didn't end there. We still underwent 3 interviews. The last one was the panel, wherein I was scrutinized by 3 senior managers. I tell you it's just like being in American Idol. So to cut the story short I ended up being a mainstay in BPI-Pasig Capitolyo branch where everyday the line is like a lotto queue. After 1 year I realized it was not the job for me, I have so much energy and just sitting there all day, caged, typing account numbers and amounts, and swallowing my saliva everytime since I can't chat long with anyone, I resigned. I was asked to stay and was promised to be transferred in new accounts but just imagining myself counting other people's money for the rest of my life was not very encouraging for me. I was lucky to have had super nice collegues. They were the best. And still are 'coz we still text each other.

After BPI, I joined Robinsons. I was applying for a marketing position but during that time their only opening was in merchandising. So after one whole day of tests and interviews, I got accepted as an Assistant Buyer for Homelines at first but on my first day I got transferred to Mens and Ladies Accessories. I tell you it's the most fun and uber fabulous job anyone could ever have. If the compensation was only umm better, I would have stayed. When you're in merchnadising in a Department Store you are required to dress up. Live up to your so-called reputation as the ones who are trendy, and have advanced fashion edge. After all, it's what you're there for. So it was there that I learned to really dress up. We can't look trashy coz everyday we have business meetings, with suppliers and with the big bosses. We have to be reliable, respectable and charming. Haha! It's the merchandising game... charm people. It's how we get better terms. It's how we get money.:P It's also where I met the person I am with now, but that's another story. So yeah, the job was a lot of fun. During my first day I got slightly shocked when my manager asked me to check out our area in Robinsons, Pampanga. My first day! I felt some kinda relief when she assured me we'd get back before 8. It was only my first day and it was already that exciting. After a few months I already got to visit almost all of Robinson's stores nationwide (except for the Island stores where you are required to ride a plane, that's the managers job hehe). We just love store visits coz we get to play around and sleep. Hehe! In summary it was the best job I ever had, especially when after a long tiring month you receive some news that your sales are uber positive. :) In BPI and Robinsons I always had the best Christmas coz I got to receive fabulous gifts! Gifts... not bribery. Haha! My favorite are of course GC's (as good as cash! haha), a Tommy Hil watch from my favorite concess No Curfew (I miss Vincent, Nette and Danny!), and okay.. cash (from rich bank clients hehe). Here are RDS friends whom I super miss:

* with Children's Department - Kitin, Cace, Candy, Mau, Rem, Diane, Macy and Och.

* RDS new year's party - last minute practice at Galleria. With the big bosses Ms. Malou, Boss Hope, Sir GC and Ms. Celina!:)

* Joey and Kitin's children's party haha! - Thistle, Yda, Ariane, Pats, Aimee, Cris, Evie, Angela.
* our lung center haha! - thistle,yda,kim,och,pats,sha,kitin and aimee

Most of the people in the pictures have now moved on to greener pasteurs (meaning where there's more money haha). So I did too. That's when I got to Branders. My interview with our then manager Lauren was eaaasy. It's more of a hello how are you talk than a what would be your contribution blah blah blah question and answer BS. So to make it short I got in as a Merch Asst. the job was easy! More than easy! Compared to my job in Rob. That's why I had a lot of time to chat, sleep and surf. Hihi. After a few months Yen asked me if I would like to be assessed for a Category Supervisor position, and I went for it. Sayang eh! Wala namang mawawala db? It was stressful coz we had to answer essays and speak with US reps. I got even more nervous when they said that the rep whom I would speak with got some sort of a reputation in merch. Masungit!!! hahaha! But when I spoke to him, he was surprisingly.. nice. Well after the interview his immediate feedback was that my voice sounded like a tin can. Great. So what? Di naman masakit! :p So after a few weeks I got to handle my very own category. Little categories, but it's a start. :) When the nightmareish retrenchment thing happened I was asked to handle one of the biggest and most annoying category of them all..WRITING. argh. I liked it though. After the second shockwave the once uber high energy merch girls were reduced from 16 or was it more than 16 (?) to 5 pcs. :( I always miss the fun fun times we had.

* Crazy.Sexy.Fun merch girls and boys. :)

* our last breakfast together as a team. :( at HEAT c/o our mother biatch Claire.:)
* my bestbud I super miss. :( I miss our long and short talks and our 4 am walks to mini stop.:)
* it all comes down to us. With lily who was our photographer that time.:) I will always be a merch girl by heart.:)

I will be in my 4th month in Marketing and though the work is stressful as in overkill stressful, I love it. I am also blessed with super nice teammates and a workaholic, intelligent, stress inducing, but wonderful boss. Baka mabasa nia eh.:P

My new family.:)

* bonding at Cerealicious Galleria. Owned by my boss. Naks yamaaaan.:P
* with our new member Garrett, our lovable intern. Gossip Boy!:P

Who said work can't be fun?:)

WRITING AND PEACE

One afternoon in the audio room in UST Commerce Building I attended an Art & Literary workshop. Since I love writing I was asked to attend together with other writers in our batch. I expected a boring, sleep-inducing session but with award winning writers as speakers you have no choice but to fight off yawning for the nth time and try to focus. After all, we were in the presence of greatness. And I had to make the most out of it. And try to get some tips on how to write more effectively with perfect word constructions. Knowned Filipino writers Ophelia Dimalanta and Lourd De Veyra of the band Radioactive Sago Project plus 2 other speakers whose names I can't remember (sorry) were the lecturers. They showed us samples of their works. I must admit I was amazed. So after I think 2 or was that 3?hours I thought it was over, suddenly the host announced that there will be a suprise literary contest. Crap. Great. I was not ready. And I feel worn out since we had an exam in taxation that day. But I just can't leave, so feeling obliged I sat again and listened to the mechanics. We were asked to pick a topic or theme and we could choose the language we want to use. Since I was brain dead I chose to compose an essay in Tagalog (haha) about past and present heroes. In summary my essay was a comparison between Ninoy Aquino (I'm fond of him coz I was born 2 days after he got shot so I feel some kinda weird connection with him haha!) and modern day heroes involving the youth of today. So after an hour I turned in my material and left. Upon reaching home my friend phoned saying I won haha tough luck! I won in the Sanaysay Division (wow lalim lang db yuck), well the cash prize got me more excited more than the ragnarok cd and the medal. Haha! There's moolah in writing! My first! Haha!

Before the contest I asked for Lourd's autograph on a torn paper from my miniature notebook. I looked at what he wrote and it made me smile. :) He'd drawn a peace sign and scribbled the words, "PAX, do you know what your name means in Latin?" Hehe maybe it's his way of saying I should live up to my name. :P Well, I believe I am! No one loves peace more than me, though sometimes when the situation calls for it I could totally bitch away. But that's less then seldom. So yeah I love peace. And if there's anything or anyone that is best suited for Globe's tagline "connecting people" that would be me. Hehe! I never filter my friends, I never choose. Although they said it's good to sometimes do, coz you know we live in the world of outright commensalism. And some friends could and would suck everything they can from you. But that's only for people who doesnt know their boundaries or their limits. And for people who gets their identity from the people they are with. That's not me. I don't build reputation from the people surrounding me. I treat people nicely not because they have fancy cars or they are high profile, but because they are good and they deserve a chance to be ackowledged. I believe that there is an innate goodness in everyone that some people just miss because they are too busy with themselves. A good friend from St. Scho told me once that I am the mediator between the aliens and the earthly beings in our school. I don't know what that means but I believe it's because I was able to build bridges for everyone. When I was in 3rd year HS there was this kid who everyone thinks is weird coz she's super quiet and just sits in her chair. One day we had a suprise test and as usual I had no pad paper together with almost half of our class. The "weird" girl was my seatmate and when the quiz was announced she was I think in the guidance office. So we were scrambling for a piece of paper to write on (or else we'll all fail) when lo and behold! There lying on top of her armchair is one whole pad of intermediate pad. I know what I did was wrong but we were desperate and I just thought I'd buy her a new one after, so I picked up the whole pad and distributed the paper to everyone who have none. When she got back she saw the almost finished pad of paper. I know she got mad coz she suddenly turned to me and shouted "F--- you!". It was supposed to be I dunno scary? But we found it hilarious. So it made the whole class laugh. And I was kinda proud of her. I said sorry and the rest was history. :) She became my friend from then on, and everyone else's. They just can't believe that a timid girl like her could f**cking curse! Haha! So yeah I might have built bridges, and I still am everyday. It's what this world need, bridges. For peace, for love, for hope.

So have you built any bridges lately?

FASHION: Coco Chanel

I read a quote from one of my favorite designers, Coco Chanel:

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

Fashion is everywhere. Take inspiration in the streets, in music, in everything. Fashion is an avenue in exuding one's confidence and being. And can reflect one's statement, in life, love and the world's beauty. Fashion is everywhere and the world is your runway. So they say. :)

Our Life Charity

Five years ago I saw this little boy at my Uncle's farm in Rizal. It is their farm helper's son and he was frantically jumping up and down running madly around with no clothes or undies. He was super dirty, had a runny nose and wears no slippers. But he has this smile and this laugh that is sooo contagious. Washed and cleaned he is super adorable. I didn't see him again after our visit to the farm. After a few months I was told that that kid was strangled by his mom when suddenly his mom went berserk. So he was "kidnapped" by my uncle's friend and brought him to my lola's house in Q.C. When I saw him again I fell in love with him (not in a malicious way you perv) 'coz he has this innocent stare (kinda like puss in boots style) that just melted our hearts away. Even my grandfather who is normally stiff and uptight (coz he's a judge and it comes with the job description) got fond of him because unlike my other cousins who are brats (haha) he is obedient and charming. He knows how to play the charity game. Ha clever trick. So yeah he won our hearts and he became everyone's baby boy :) He stayed with us in Marikina for more or less than 6 months and I swear I acted like a concerned Mom all the time! It's freakin' crazy! I was still working in BPI then. That's why I understand Moms when they say they it's hard to leave their children when they go somewhere 'coz that's exactly what I felt when he was here. I would leave at around 6 am but before I head off I always kiss him goodbye and whenever he wakes up with me still there it only always end up with me being late for work. Kids are the cutest in the morning! They have this bewildered look that is so endearing. I always try to put him back to sleep or bribe him with whatever things so as to distract him so I could finally leave. So anyway, for those few months he was the reason why I was excited to go home everyday. Before heading home I see to it I have some pasalubong for him...juice, milk, cookies, toys, name it. I am a sucker mom. A fake sucker mom. What more if he was really my kid? Haha! So one day imagine my heartbreak when my Aunt texted me that his Dad would be fetching him from my Lola's house. Seemed like his mom's a little sane now so they are taking him back. I tell you it seemed like the heavens collapsed on my head haha. And since I work in a bank and I can't cry in front of clients I had to sneak and cry in the pantry or the ladies room. I was also constantly on the phone asking if he'd been fetched or if they're already on their way home. After 2 weeks I saw him again at my Lola's house :) My uncle was able to sneak him out of the farm hehe. I never left his side the whole day and when we finally had to go home to Marikina I cried (even my Mom!) 'coz we know we might not see him again for quite some time. After that, I vowed never to get too attached to him again.

So fast forward to present, he's now 7 years old and he's still living in my Lola's house in Q.C. His parents finally decided to let us (as in our whole clan) fake adopt him 'coz they think it is the right thing to do. Good thinking. When we visited the farm again I got to converse with his Mom and all I ever heard from her are Thank Yous. She said she feels blessed that we are there to look after their son and she thinks he would do better with us. I felt kinda bad for her 'coz I felt how she loves John Dave (that's his name). I was holding her son then, she then turned to him and told him that she was the one who bought the shirt she's wearing, I taught him how to say Thank You. She then left with tears streaming down her face. It was a sad sight but I know that she knows it's all for the best. After all they wouldn't be able to provide for him in that farm. Now, he's in Grade 1. We recently hired a tutor for him because his reading comprehension is a little slow. I heard from my Mom that his tutor said he's now more confident in mouthing words and more active in class. It's slightly because of his inferiority complex. I think he's scared to really express what he feels because he is aware that all the other kids he's playing with are not his real cousins. But now I think he's getting better. Whenever we ask him if he still knows his mom and dad he would just shrug his shoulders. Well when he's ready we would whole-heartedly take him back to his family. We have no plans of adopting him legally, our only purpose is for him to get a good education, get a nice job in the future and go back to his family so he could help them. That is our only wish for him. He's one lucky kid, everyone in the family loves him. He's part of every family celebrations, his birthday is more outlandish than that of my other cousins 'coz he has more "sponsors", and he often have new things. I sometimes take him out for a stroll in the mall. And I love taking him out 'coz he's just a quiet little kid who doesn't run around and who doesn't piss me off. It was a breeze when I bought him new shoes for school. Haha.

But more than that, I think we really are the ones who are lucky to have had him in our lives. We learned the gift of giving, compassion and kindness through him. We learned how to be contented with what we have (especially when it comes to material things) 'coz he is like that. I hope we are worthy teachers who would be able to forever instill in him good values that he could carry out 'til he grows up..that he could share with his family and other siblings when he finally reunites with them.

Post Birthday part 2

Yesterday was super crazy and fun. Of course, I already told you I slept on my birthday. So the the next day, when I woke up I had to dash to take a bath after reading Ariane's text that they're gonna pick me up at 11:15 am. I was still in front of the mirror deciding what to wear when they came so I just settled for what I already had on. I grabbed my purse and my digicam and dashed outside. I gave her a kiss and said hi to Mariel, I missed them! We did some little catching up and some chismis hehe then we picked up Pats which resulted to more yakking away and unlimited laughter. :) These are the people I was with in Robinsons. They were my breakfast buddies, yosi mates, lunch mates and dismissal mates. They are the people who were there and witnessed Algene and I's lovestory. Algene loves them to death and so do I.:)
So going back, we then picked up Joeyboy and his gf at Rob Metroeast. Then we're off to Kathy's house. More people came... Kitin, Karen and Jb. We basically spent our day eating, drinking (coz Kathy has been practicing her bartending skills; my fave cockatil drink for the day was James' tequila sunrise with whip cream on top!) different cocktails, playing billiards (in which I won 2 games yey!) and watching the boys play guitar hero. We also spent the whole day taking pictures and cam whoring haha. It was super fun. I missed these people. I can't wait for Mariel's bday bash on September!

After Kathy's cocktail party I then headed to Eastwood to meet up with Hans, Jace, Tricia and Mich. We chilled first at Bedroom bar then we played CS for about 4 hours. It was super de-stressing! I missed playing CS and it reminded me a lot of my college days wherein I would cut classes just to play CS with my guy friends. :P
So yeah, it was definitely a long and fun Sunday for me. Pics uploaded at my multiply account paxieness.multiply.com. Enjoy.:)

POST Birthday

My cousin texted me last night that I suck for sleeping on my birthday. Haha! What can I do I'm tired and I got home at around 3 pm from work. After work, Lily Mich Tricia and I went to St. Francis Square to eat Taipan Noodles. I love it! We celebrated my birthday over noodles. Haha. When I got home I headed straight to my room coz I had to sleep since there are people texting me if we could go for a drink later at night. I replied to them saying I would try if I could still wake up since I usually go into comatose (which exactly what happened). Suddenly my Dad knocked on my door saying I have a cake. I asked him if he had it delivered. He said it's from someone who calls me Fishie. Hehe that girl from Dubai. I never expected a surprise from her. She 's just not into those kind of things. And for that I give her an A+ for effort. :) Here's me with mah cake.

Duckie, thanks for the cake. Everyone loved it. :)

xoxo,

Birthday Whatevers.

Okay, so I should be sleeping now. But I can't get my hands off this keyboard I just have so many thoughts I would like to share and so many words formulating on the inside of the brain. So here I am sitting sideways in front of the PC 'coz I just finished eating and I'm so full I can't barely move. And for 15 mins. now I'm still having chest pains 'coz a pill got stuck in the pathway between my esophagus and my chest. I can really feel it stucked and it hurts. Swear. It's killing me! Argh! I freakin' hate meds. I am just too stressed that's why I decided to finally drink Stresstabs even if I choke everytime I swallow it.

It's my birthday! I don't know why people get so perked up during birthdays. For me, it's just like any other day. Normal. Boring. Mundane. Or maybe it's because I know the only person who could make this day special is far far away from where I am. But then again, this week I've done some crazy crazy things. And I've done some little realization that I shouldn't be trying so hard for one person. And it's proven to be slightly effective. I worry less. I am a little happier. In my own words... "Chillax". Haha. I've learned to be a little less anxious. And I've seen slightly the other side of life. For the past few days, my angas boy has been more attentive and more umm.. sweet. More than sweet in her own standards. So yeah, it's slightly amusing. I have also learned to be a little more "open". If you know what I mean. And discovered that there are people who appreciates me for who I am than the one person I have been begging for attention...and love. I love my friends and seeing them smile and laugh because of me is more than any reward or amount of money I could ever grasp. Bottom line is I now vow never to try too hard... except towards work. I know I stress over the pile of tasks that's being thrown at me. But I'm thankful because it has also helped me divert my attention. And it helps in making time fly by faster than before. Coz you know an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Idleness just makes me more insane and always ends in heartache. I would always choose stress over work than stress over heartache and anticipation. So yeah, I feel insanely saner now.

It's my birthday and it's just like any other day. But I'm excited because birthdays are like passes. It's the day wherein I can do whatever I want, say whatever I want, tell jokes to which everybody's obliged to laugh at, tease people without making them stop me, do crazy things and just get away with it, and when people have no choice but to be extra nice to me. I love birthdays. :P

Down with NOSTALGIA

As a follow-up to my previous post about my St. Scho Days here are some pictures I found in my Mom's old filing cabinet. Haha! I included my college pic and some other pics I found amusing and hilarious. Disclaimer: I look like shit in most of the pictures. Shit and weird. So pls. don't laugh. The first three pictures were grabbed from Jane (my HS friend's) facebook account.

* Quadrangle!!! - This is where the flagpole is found. Where our morning assembly happens. Where we conduct our cheering practices (under the scorching heat of the sun). Where I had my first black eye when during cheering practice Chic-c accidentally hit me on the eye by her elbow (but because of it I got my first gf heehee). Where I cried when we were announced champion in the cheering competition. Where we make pa-cute while crossing the field on our way to our P.E. class. Where our class picture was held. And part of the "bonding girls" route. :)

* Rubber Tree - I love this area. It's so serene and it looks like a Japanese garden. This is the location of our seasoned rubber tree and fishpond. That long path is the way to the gym up to Gate 7. This is the ultimate "bonding" place.

BONDING - it's a term we use when we invite our "prospects" for a walk to know each other and spend time together. Hahaha. It mostly happens during Lunch time when the time is longer. Sometimes people bond with different people (people who they have crushes on or have crushes on them) during recess, lunch and dismissal. Like I did. Haha.

* This is NEW. Sosyal na St. Scho may pool na! :) Hahaha!

* 1v-St. Irene - Me, Jac, Danna, Diane and Dinah. I miss you girls!:)

* My Grade 6 yearbook pic. Sorry mejo smeared na yung page pati pic ko ang dumi lang. Tae lang sobra sa panget! Hehe.

* Prep Gold. I look like some hooker's child. Yak panget lang! 2nd from right first row.
* Grade 2 - First Communion. D bagay. Eeeew. eew. eew.

* Grade 1 - Friendly. I don't know why there's a hanky pinned to my uniform. I think it's the trend that time (the M-F hankies? Remember?!), as much as the fur headband Dinah's wearing. Harhar. Eew.eew.eew
* Grade 2 - Courteous. This is me on full landi mode. Look at Ela oh we have the same pose, only I look more disgusting. Kadire. My teacher said I look bungisngis. I will never forget that word, she looked mad when she said it.

* Grade 3 - Respectful. This is the time when one-length hair is cool. Looks eewy. Eew.

* 2nd yr. college - Jaypee, Bruce, Patrick, Rj, Ekoy, Nardz, Tin. :)

Why I heart SINGAPORE

We were only there for 4 days, but I have fallen in love with this country (or city? it's too small to be a country). I felt home! Here are the reasons why...

I love how their airport is connected to their mrt or train station. You can actually go on board without anyone looking at you wondering why you're carrying luggages. It's totally normal.

I love Changi airport. There are computers everywhere that anybody can use to surf the net or whatever. Everything is so organized. They have a huge waiting area. And there are restos inside which was
perfect coz i was sooo hungry when we got there.

Burger King is heaven!!! I'm not a fan of our local Burger King but I swear, 6sgd for one meal is totally worth it. The taste, serving and texture of the food is totally different from what we have here.

Taxi Rides are expensive. As in expensive. For just a short ride around the block as in literally short of 1 kilometer, our fare have gone up to 7SGD (that's P200+). Our fare from our hotel to the airport was 21SGD! Imagine traveling from Marikina to Cubao that's how near it is. BUT, all taxis there are so well-maintained, the drivers are very professional AND the inside doesn't smell of sewer, poop or dried saliva.. They also accept credit cards.:P

Our little hotel is just a 5 min. walk from Little India train station. So it is very convenient to go around and explore. I was told not to go near that place but it is actually not that scary. I have only searched for a place to stay in online and I'm super delighted as in more than delighted I found a nice and homey place like Hangout@Mt.Emily.:) Guna, the Indian receptionist, was soooo nice! Algene is very fond of her and that's rare! Haha. Anyway they gave us a room on the 5th floor WITH WINDOWS! It was not what I expected so it got us more excited. Haha. Most people who checked-in are backpackers from all over the globe. Everyone's so nice and friendly. Their rooftop is also amazing. In front of the hotel is the Mt. Emily park. It's so serene we didn't even mind the long walk down the train station. I could live here. Algene loved the place too, that too is rare.

* the lobby

* by the reception

* you have to walk to reach the hotel. Haha exercise.

*nextdoor condo

* our room!

*our bed! haha!

* algene's workplace haha

* Mt. Emily park. Our road to the train station haha.

* Little India train station

* chillin' at the rooftop. Our quiet place.:) We were also able to bond with an Aussie over cigarette. Haha.

I also love how people here patronize walking as a form of exercise. Haha. You can also stay out til the wee hours of the morning without worrying for your safety.

* down our hotel's street

* late night walk searching for a place to grab dinner. We ended up eating in a thai resto where the food is divine! The crews are all pinoy except for the chef. We ended up chatting with them while waiting for our food and while eating. Algene again loved them, which is again rare.

I love their MRT! It makes everything so accessible. Even their so-called provinces. And at the end of every train ride you get to refund 1sgd (or your so-called deposit). If you plan on making the train as your main source of transportation, collect lots of coins.

* all stations!

* they have this screen or tv in every station where you can see how much time you still have to wait 'til the train arrives, just like in our new LRT stations.

...to be continued later.
