Working on backlogs before we head to Laiya! Anyway, I went to Karylle and Yael's beautiful wedding a few weeks ago. Two days before the event, I still had nothing to wear and I originally planned to do my own hair and makeup (which I'm really bad at haha). Lucky for me, I got help from unexpected people and places! Here's how my afterparty garden wedding look came together...

I was in a hurry and I was meeting the Polyeast Records team in Podium so I chose Megamall. Anne greeted me with a smile (Hi girl!!! coffee soon!) and introduced me to Cathy, their makeover expert!:) They asked me to choose the look I want and I chose Fresh Faced Beauty bilang garden wedding.

 A must have! Primers make your skin ready and mattifies it.

 She mixed Moisture White Shiso BB Cream with their Oil Free Balancing Foundation and applied it all over my face. Loved it! It did not feel heavy and has light coverage. For my undereye circles, she used TBS Concealer Pencil.

Here's a secret I'm happy to share! The Body Shop's Brightening Eye Cream is perfect for people (like me) who have under eye problems! Halleluja!:) It brightens the eye area, lightens dark circles and stimulates blood circulation to lessen signs of fatigue. NEED.THIS.IN.MY.LIFEEE. 

I don't have a before photo (just look at my mirror selfie above hihi), but here's me less than an hour later! 

 Ang bongga mo Cathy!!! Asked her if I can take her home para always this fresh and maayos my make-up haha!

Back to the 20's: LAURA MERCIER Holiday 2012 Launch

I think brands should come up with more era themed events, where people are required (as in no costume,no entry) to dress to the nines and in accordance with the given peg. When Laura Mercier invited me to their Art Deco Holiday '12 Collection Launch at Prive, and when they said dress your best 20's glam look, I almost pranced around the room out of excitement. You all know how I would marry vintage! I didn't even bother buying an outfit because I already have 20s inspired vintage pieces in my closet from all the vintage themed shoots I did. Lol. Anyway come event, when I got inside the venue, it was like stepping into the set of The Great Gatsby--or Moulin Rouge! Almost everyone was in character! Just like Laura's newest collection, every girl was gilded, glamorous, striking in their most Art Deco Muse way. :)

Event was hosted by the gorgeous Raya Mananquil. Love her dress!

Laura’s inspiration for 2012 draws from her background as a fine art painter and focuses on the mood and attitude of women through different art periods. For the holiday season, Laura was inspired by the decorative architecture, style and mood of the Art Deco period in Paris in the mid-1920’s, most notably the beautiful paintings of the artist Tamara de Lempicka. The beginning of ‘great modernism’ brought about a very distinct and designed decorative movement. Laura created rich makeup shades of gold, red and black to beautifully contrast each other and add sharp definition that is geometrical, powerful and beautifully ornamental.

Golds and bronzes are paired with high-shine reds and deep blacks to make this eye-catching colour collection stand out. Eyes are sharply designed and defined —lined in black, with gilded shimmering eye colours as a beautiful golden background. Lips wear super-shiny red lacquer—boldly painted on to make a stunning statement. The face is contoured, sculpted, and a true work of art. Nails are painted in rich shades of red and noir. Love it! My favorite from the collection is the Faux Lash Mascara, Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact and the Caviar Eyeliner!:)

I wasn't able to document my outfit (will do a repeat and a retake ASAP), but I wore a vintage floral wrap top, black swing skirt, Primadonna t-strap bow heels and a 10-lb (kiddin') multi-strand pearl necklace! Wasn't able to fix my hair anymore coz I came from a styling gig and I was on a rush. Haggarda Versoza. 

This has got to be one of my favorite events coz of the theme, the brand, it being intimate and of course our makeup loots after.:) I am inlove with the lippy I got from my bag! Stays forever promise. You can check it out on my INSTAGRAM (user: paxieness).
