Tomb Raider + Rayban Giveaway!

Hello, hello! My last post for the night. :) Took me 2 hours to edit the 1st video from our series of Cambodia temple visits. It's finally ready! Woot. In between editing, I got carried away watching all of them again. Every press of the play button brings me back over and over again to Siam Reap. From now on, I vow to record all of our trips. I don't know why I only thought of that now. Anyway, I want to apologize in advance for our being amateur videographers! We just want to  bring Cambodia to all of you. Starting with an outfit post. Enjoy!:)

Artwork shirt, Thrifted polo, shorts & boots, Meister watch,
Rayban aviators
 Hedgren bag

This would be the most epic set of outfit photos I've ever taken. I would treasure this forever coz these were taken inside the legendary Bantay Srei temple at Angkor, Cambodia. This temple was our first stop during our 5-temple tour and dates back to 10th century, 967 AD to be exact! Imagine that. :) You could even see the carvings on the ruins! It still feels surreal. Haay. :) I will be posting our temple visit photos soon, but for now here's a video of us at Ta Prohm temple(where Tomb Raider was filmed!). I suggest you lower your volume coz of the shrilling sound!

Traveling really sets me free, it resets me, humbles me. I feel happier and more at peace after visiting a certain place. I think traveling contributes greatly to my being a legend (hopefully). I highly encourage all of you to get out of your boxes, your comfort zones and experience the world.:) Speaking of which, here's our much awaited RAYBAN giveaway!

Me, You, We are all Legends.

I hope you've all greeted Rayban a very happy 75th birthday!!! As part of their celebration, as I've mentioned in THIS post, they recently launched a campaign titled Rayban LEGENDS. I, along with 10 other bloggers, was chosen to be part of this project and we were asked to channel a legendary person we look up to. It was actually a no-brainer for me. Heh. I'm not sure if you've already seen Vern as Audrey Hepburn , Sarah as The Blues Brothers and Lissa as Madonna, but the girls looked amazing if not legendary! As for me, I've chosen one of my favorite style inspirations as my "icon", the forever fabulous TWIGGY!:)

Thrifted dress, Jhajing collar, Bedazzle bangle, Gift from Mich's mom shoes, RAYBAN sunglasses!

I'm not sure if you all know her, but TWIGGY is known to be one of the world's first supermodels and a fashion icon. She started modelling when she was 16. People thought she wouldn't make it, nobody believed her except maybe for her parents, but 50+ years later she's still the icon that she was back in the 60s. With her androgynous & unique look plus her quirky fashion sense, she has shown the world that being different can take you places.

Still at the peak of her career, she quit modelling stating, "You can't be a clothes hanger your entire life!". She decided to risk it, dropped her lucrative career and tried out acting and singing. With just her confidence and winning smile, she thrived and came out of it all as a winner. Fast forward to now, she's still in the forefront of fashion. I'm sure you've seen her shine as a judge on America's Next Top Model! She also launched her newest album November of last year. :) Her fabulousness just never stops and transcends the decades. The best part? She uses her influence by encouraging people to take part in animal welfare protection and breast cancer research.

The sixties were a time when ordinary people could do extraordinary things...!
- Twiggy

As for me, like Twiggy, I never felt the need to change myself or pretend to be something or someone I'm not, or adapt to what's "standard" or "normal" to achieve happiness or success. From day one, in blogging or styling or growing up, I've been ME. Like her, I've risked enough to finally know what will make me happy, what will make me grow and what makes me a better person. When it comes to my career, I pretty much know where I stand and I know what I want. In summary, I let go of my stable and high paying job to pursue my passions, and I've never been happier in my life.

The hardest question in this challenge is this: How can you be a legend? I don't know if I'd ever be one or if I am already one. Guess I'd only know when I leave this world. Hehe. What I do know is that one need not be a Twiggy or an Obama or a Ninoy Aquino to be a legend. A legend is someone who live to inspire others, someone who leaves an impression so deep not even death could bury his/her tales. Someone who has touched hearts or souls, someone who changed other people's lives for the better.

I don't know if I'd ever reach such stature, but I would continuously strive to be one. I believe I'm treading the right path as I try to excel in my chosen fields and be the best version of me. By working on my dreams within reason, without stepping on other people and by lifting others up. I am not perfect and I make errors along the way, but I consider each one of them a building block to my foundation. I acknowledge the fact that this life is temporary, borrowed, and at the end of it all I will be questioned how I spent the gifts He gave me. So everyday I tell myself, "How can I change the world today?".

I spent years questioning my purpose in life and now I finally know. I use my blog as an avenue to inspire other people through my stories--career, love, travels, life-- and to use whatever influence I have to get this message across-- LIFE IS NOT ALL ABOUT ME OR YOU. The biggest legends are those who didn't live only for themselves, but for the betterment of others. Each one of us, in our own little way, has the power to change the world. We just have to believe enough and act on it. You don't even need money to do it, sometimes time and effort is enough.

But to become a legend one must first be free. How could one conquer the world if she/he can't conquer herself/himself? When you've discovered and make peace with yourself, that's when you start living by faith, that's when you find happiness, that's when you could finally open and offer yourself to the world. :) Just like Rayban's famous tagline, NEVER HIDE. Each one of us has a hidden shining star! :)

Have you found your inner legend? I would love to hear your inspiring stories:)

Happy 75th Anniversary RAYBAN!

Iconic and leading eyewear brand, RAY-BAN, is celebrating their 75th year anniversary!!! I will always remember how cool my Dad and uncles looked while making tambay in their  vintage aviators when I was young. Fast forward to now, their sunnies are still good as new and were passed on (or more like raided by) to the younger boys in our fam. Of course, the girlys steal them once in a while too. Hehe. Nothing will ever beat the epicness that is Rayban! Anyway, as I've said it's their anniversary, and they're celebrating it with a campaign that is just perfect for their forever mission-- style, tradition and freedom of expression-- the Ray-ban LEGENDS!

Ray-Ban Legends tells the history and the spirit of 75 years of being yourself and freely expressing your beliefs and personality. Since its creation in 1937 and up to the present day, honouring the values of authenticity and uniqueness constitutes the DNA of Ray-Ban.

Icons and legends of the past, present and future: this is the key message of Ray-Ban Legends. Shot by photographer Mark Seliger in California, the campaign frames seven legendary moments (one per decade), each inspired by a real life and particularly iconoclastic figure. Every character wears a Ray-Ban Icon. Each image evokes a specific story and is epitomized by the chromatic tones that are faithful to the relevant decade (black and white, sepia and, naturally, colour).

The result is an extraordinary gallery of powerful images that span an era, while capturing specific moments in time. In keeping with the Never Hide spirit, the seven figures unconsciously broke through barriers; their eyes were open while the world’s were closed.

A group of pilots, the Blue Devils, in the 1930s; a writer’s “relationship” in the heart of America in the 1940s; a singer-songwriter who worked with Elvis Presley in the 1950s; an English socialite in the 1960s; a boy and girl falling in love during a protest in the 1970s; the nightlife of three girls in the 1980s, and a courageous rapper in the 1990s.

They also released their "modernized" iconic aviators...
