Styling Stint: UNIQLO Fall/Winter '12 Launch

A few weeks ago, I, together with my favorite co-stylists, styled for UNIQLO's Fall/Winter 2012 Collection launch at Le Pavillion Metropark. With just a few hours of sleep (just came from Ilocos) I came to the set with overflowing enthusiasm (haha). It's my first time to style for UNIQLO plus I was with our "power team" -- with my veteran co-stylists Jear and Argie we were assisted by the best girlies Kaye, Bianca and Kai. :) It was the perfect balance of work and play! Jear originally thought we had to come up with 72 looks (weh haha) but it boiled down to 12 (haha!) and all looks were pre-styled, so petiks galore. We styled the mannequins on our own though! Photos!

Wasn't able to take photos na while the show was ongoing. Well, obviously. Haha. Fashion shows are always the craziest in styling. Everything happens in seconds, and you have to make sure the clothes are right, perfect and the changes are under 10 seconds if possible. I stationed myself at the stairs before the models walk the ramp to straighten out the clothes, check for misaligned stockings/leggings or creases! Wild.

stylists gone wild? LOL

You might be thinking, how on earth could we wear the pieces above in a tropical country such as ours. Well actually, they are pretty lightweight. You just need to style them well, it will depend on how you mix and match your clothes! It helps that it's colder now (hello BER months!) and it's raining almost everyday. All pieces were chosen to match Filipino's taste in fashion and our bipolar weather. Highlightd fall colors were blue, orange, maroon, mauve, purple, gray, etc. My favorite from the collection is the cape/poncho!!! What's yours?

Nolita Dinner Date with TOMS

No Tom is not a guy. Haha. Ana and I went to the very exclusive (as in we only realized how exclusive it was when we got there) TOMS casual get together event last May 29 at NOLITA, Boni Highstreet Central. Segway: Nolita is also owned by Patrick of Ponti and Borough--ikaw na talaga Pat!!! Haha. Anyway, when Ana and I got there we only saw like 10 press people: some from Stylebible, some stylists plus Papa V as in Victor Basa! There was no reg table or welcoming committee so we decided to wait for the PR person to approach us. We really thought the magazine peeps were only interviewing Papa V for a feature or something. That's how intimate it was. Haha. Anyway, Sugar finally saw us and led us to the table where the others were. Super dyahe but super fun:) They just presented the TOMS story (which you all already know, 1 shoe for 1 child) and then capped off the night with food, drinks and stories. :) Good vibes. :) Here are photos starting with what I wore (sorry no makeup na naman hehe)

Nita Clothing cutout dress, House of Luxe necklace, Millie's Thrifted shoes

Here are photos from the event!

Thanks again TOMS Philippines for the wonderful dinner and the inspiring stories.:) Hope Ana and I could volunteer soon!:)

TOMS was borne out of a simple idea – a desire to help others. In 2006, American traveleler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found that they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. To date, TOMSand our giving partners have given over two million pairs of new shoes to children in 40 different countries – including the Philippines – all over the world.
TOMS is available in NOTHING BUT WATER stores.
