This is it! We've finally reached the end of my (our) Lub d journey! It was fun yet bittersweet reliving that super fun week, hopping from one place to another and making memories with the most amazing people. In my last post I shared with you our quick visit to Bangkok. We stayed there for a day and then flew back to Manila the day after. Upon arrival in Manila, we all boarded a van and headed to our last stop-- the newly opened Lub d hostel in Makati!
Lub d Makati is conveniently located in one of the city's most popular areas-- Poblacion. It's just a few steps away from Century Mall, A. Venue, popular establishments, restaurants, bars and a few minutes away from Greenbelt/Glorietta mall. Its excellent location provides easy access to the airport and some of the city's must-see destinations like Intramuros. If you're planning to leave town, it could serve as your jump-off point since it's also near bus stations. :)
I really had an amazing time at Lub d Siem Reap, Phuket and Bangkok. Each of them has their own vibe & charm, but all of them has that same Lub d excellence & hospitality. Wherever you may be, you will feel right at home in Lub d! And after an exciting week of city/country hopping, it just feels great to be back home! :) Lub d Philippines, Makati is their 5th and newest venture!
The lobby and common area is located on the 2nd floor of the building. Here you could kill boredom by playing billiards, arcade or board games with other guests or their friendly staff! For people who area always working even when they travel (ehem! haha), they also have a co-working space (by Garage Society) at the corner with free Wi-Fi! If you feel hungry or thirsty just a grab a bite or drink at their Grab N Go bar. A conference room is also available for meetings or presentations. If you need help with your itinerary or you want to join a tour, just look for their tour desk in partnership with Tripkada and they'd be happy to help arrange it for you.:) They also have a Theater Room where you could lounge around, relax and watch your favorite movies with your friends or other guests. They've got everything every traveler need! So impressive.
The hostel's deli bar serves a wide selection of self-service items and other snacks to take away. They also have smoothies, milkshakes, cold drinks like water & soda, and a great selection of coffee made by their trained baristas. They will soon open their rooftop bar where you could socialize and have drinks with the amazing Manila skyline as your background. Go on a culinary journey with their delectable menu created and prepped by Chef Nicco Santos!:)
Personally, I love how they chose the Philippines as one of their locations. Our country has so much to offer when it comes to tourism and the owners share the same sentiment! Lub d Makati is the largest hostel in the Philippines and the perfect destination for all types of travelers, especially millennials who wants a hip, clean place to stay in Manila.
Verdict: I highly recommend Lub d Makati to all you balikbayans and tourists who need a nice place to stay in Manila or for locals who desperately need a staycation! They have super low introductory rates (P540-570 for a bed in their Dorm room, P2,700 for the Barkada room and P1,800 for the Junior). Rates may change overtime but I guarantee you that in Lub d you'd get your money's worth. Great location, lovely staff, sick interiors, comfortable rooms, amazing facilities-- couldn't ask for more!

Lub d's Junior room is perfect for travelers who likes the vibe of a hostel but wants a little privacy. The room features a King size bed (or 2 large single bed) with fresh, plush linen, and amazingly comfortable pillows that will surely lull you into a deep and refreshing slumber. It looks and feel more like a hotel than a hostel, to be honest. :) Worth the price!

The room has a blackout curtain, smart TV, bottles of water, tea & coffee maker, mini fridge, electronic safe box and essential toiletries! They also provide towels and all rooms have free WiFi. So you only need to bring yourself (haha) and your personal things if you're staying here!

I love how Lub d incorporate each country's culture in their design! You know how much Filipinos love hanging out with their friends, so Lub d Makati added a BARKADA room to their room types! If you're traveling with friends or family and wants a bit of privacy, then this room is for you! :)
This spacious high ceiling, loft type room could fit 3-4 people and has 1 double bed (which could be converted to 2 single) + 2 more single beds. The room has a window, is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with towels and toiletries provided, a safety box, telephone, Smart TV, coffee & tea maker, mini fridge and more! :) So posh!
Large double bed that is actually 2 single beds put together! Same with our room. You wouldn't even feel it. Super quality their duvets ha!

Sink is located outside the bathroom. I like that better because I could brush my teeth or wash my face if someone's in the bathroom. Hihi.

Now let me show you one of the best rooms in the hostel--their MIXED & LADIES Dorm! I have stayed in countless hostels and in all honestly, Lub d Makati's dorm room is the best I've seen!!! For solo travelers or backpackers, this spacious 36 square meters 8-bed dorm space features large comfortable beds with universal sockets & USB ports, mini locker to keep your valuables and individual reading lights. I love how they separated the lockers & changing area so guests could change, pack or unpack without disturbing others. As a backpacker, thank you for hearing our pleas! Now I could rest sleep in peace. Haha.

The beds are spacious! It's like having your own room inside a room. I love the extra floor space. I could put more things and I could walk inside my bunk. Hihi.
