Get a Taste of Everything Japanese this July at the Shangrila Mall

This month, get a taste of everything Japanese as Shangri-La Plaza commemorates the 61st annual Filipino-Japanese friendship month with a roster of exciting activities and exhibits that bring two distinct cultures together. Visited the exhibit 2 weeks ago and it made me miss Japan so much! Here are photos from that day, as well activities which happened this month! :)

Kimono exhibit on the East Wing. Love!

The metro’s premier lifestyle destination kicked off the festivities last July 8 with a Yuujuo: A Japanese Cultural Exhibit at the Luxury Lane that showcases the colorful heritage of Japan through their cultural artifacts.

The decors belong to a Japanese art collector! So cool!

With baby girl, Jessa!

So many beautiful kimonos! Reminds me of our Geisha sightings in Kyoto. :)

 Cherry blossoms everywhere!

Torii gates and lanterns on the East wing's 2nd floor!

Torii gates again at main wing! OMG this reminds me of our trip last year and our visit to Fushimi Inari!

Super miss it!

Shoppers also experienced a traditional Japanese marketplace at Everything Japanese Lifestyle Fair as Shang’s very own Japanese brands and other select exhibitors come together and offer mall guests a range of Japanese goods, from food favorites and household items to arts and crafts materials.

Cute Japanese inspired booths selling cute Japanese inspired items!

Discover the Japanese art of stone appreciation through the Suiseki Exhibit, where the Natural Stone Society of the Philippines will be displaying different collections of Japanese stones that reflect objects of nature interspersed with specially cultivated bonsai pieces. The art of Suiseki involves the collection, preparation and appreciation of unaltered naturally formed stones. Drop by the Grand Atrium from July 17 to 26 to catch the exhibit, as well as workshops on the art of suiseki.

Japanese-themed workshops were also held the past weekends! Looks so much fun! See all of the workshops below!

You may also get special deals from Japanese restaurants inside the mall!

You don’t have to book a flight to the land of the rising sun to get a feel of Japanese history, art, and lifestyle. Visit the Shang until the end of July to discover more of Japan’s rich heritage and the ways it’s interwoven into Filipino culture. Arigatou gozaimasu & Soko ni anata o sanshō shite kudasai! :)
