New Year First

It was my first time to welcome the New Year in some place other than my grandmother's house in Q.C. Every year our whole family (including extensions) spends our new year's eve partying the night away on the street with our neighbors. It's always fun. But due to my dad's Christmas episode where he got so drunk he fell and hit his head on hard cement, we had to celebrate in the hospital. We had food delivered and just chattered the night away. We also watched hundreds of fireworks from my dad's room at the 14th floor of Medical City. It was amazing and magical! I love how the whole sky lit up as 12am neared as if a pyro competition was taking place! The whole spectacle lasted for about an hour. In short, ang yaman ng pinoy. Lol. Anyway, even if we had to go home early (so the patient could rest), even if we were only 6 (other family members were at my grandma's house), I realized I'm totally okay with it. If it happened 2 years ago, I would be majorly bummed to death. Guess I'm growing up? Haha. As long as you're with your family--minus the noise, minus the booze, minus the excessive smoke--everything is just right. Here are some photos from our celebration today..

Starting it with an outfit post...
cute spot to take photos across the hospital!:)

Then came midnight!!! Our view from the window was just--breathtaking:)

fireworks display from all over the metro!

Happy New Year na!!!

Here's a dialogue earlier between Mich and me, at approximately around 6pm...

Aisa: Mich, samahan moko later sa ER mga 12:30am.

Mich: Why what are you gonna do there?

Aisa: Tatambay!

Mich: Baket?

Aisa: abangan ko yung mga mapuputukan gusto ko makita ano itsura.

MIch: morbid?!

Come 12:30 I really dragged Mich to the ER. We really did sat at the waiting area--I waited and Mich slept. Matumal in english: not so much happening. Lol. I ran out of newspaper to read so I stood up and left Mich so I could get more reading materials from my dad's room. I was really bummed (coz I didn't see!) when I got back and Mich said a guy with an icepick stuck to his right eye was brought in. Malas. Not a fun way to start the year. :P

And lookie! I finally have my Forever 21 loots from the US!!! (it came right on time)

 my new babies:)

I will be selling the black boater hat coz it's big on me. The pleather leggings and cargo skinny jeans fit perfectly though!:) I'm so happy. On the first day of the year, yes I can be superficial. :P

So there! I have a strong feeling this is gonna be a great year for all of us--it should be. I'm putting my hopes up.:) Happy New Year everyone!!! 2011--we're all ready for you.:)

War zone that is Ebay.

I only had 4 hours of sleep today, as usual. My day usually starts with me ending my night work (at around 7am), tending my online store, replying to emails and queries, texting a lot of people about a lot of things. After all that, I can doze off. I usually put my phone into silent mode 'coz a slight buzz, or ring or text could easily jolt me and wake me up forever.

Yesterday, I slept late (around 11am). Even if my phone is in silent mode, sometimes subconsciously, I could still feel it when people text me and that wakes me up too. That's what happened. Arrrgh. I couldn't go back to sleep anymore 'coz I had to run to the nearest thrift shop to buy clothes that I could use for our weekend shoots. Got all dizzy looking for interesting workable pieces in a shop in Cubao where there are about hundreds of clothes rack, all mixed up, where all of the clothes were squeezed into racks til there are no spaces anymore to even move the hangers an inch sideways. It was total chaos. I tried to look for a nice bell bottom pants but failed. I cannot go over all 10 racks of ladies' pants.  Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. To make the long story short, I still left with 1 big bag of clothes. Still scored. Lol. I tried to do all the searching and buying in less than 2 hours--coz I had to check the items I was bidding on in Ebay! Got glued for hours. Lol.

Without further ado... here are some of the items I snatched from persistent co-bidders. Nothing beats the mixed feeling of triumph and then realizing you still have to pay for it. Haha.

Escada animal print oversized cardi

 Marc Jacobs cardi

 Marc jacobs coat

Can't hardly wait to finally wear them! :) Especially now that it's a little colder. And here's something that made me drool for like an hour--coz it's too pretty but I can't ever buy it.

Chanel escapade 2006. So pretty. I die. And it has the Eiffel Tower--perfection.

Oh, but there's one thing I got that I didn't pay for! Won this cute peach oversized tee via Chictopia's chic rewards! Yipee.

So that's it. Just sharing what I've been up to today. Shopping. Blech.

My Cup is Full

I've not been sleeping well for the past weeks. But you know it's worth it. Got to style for another shoot yesterday. This time it's for an openshoot teaser by MJ Cachero. The working theme was Fashion Wars or runway ready. The shoot was different from all my other shoots coz it was held late at night! But it worked to my advantage coz I had enough time to rest after my all-nighter (work). I almost came in late because of the terrible terrible traffic. Turned out I was still too early for the others. The shoot started at around 9pm and ended at 1am! Thank you Mich for tagging along even if you were tired and had to sleep on the floor. :/

Final photos and official teaser to be posted soon. For the meantime, here are some behind the scenes...

latag mode.

With my styling ka-tandem--Jear:)

1st look.

I changed my mind and made her wear the white shirt instead.  Does the outfit look familiar?:)
Sorry for the seemingly possessed face. Lol.

The transition was fast so I had to act and style fast! My fastest so far. Hehe. I was also told that we were doing 2 looks per model. This made me panic a little 'coz I only prepared 3 outfits as per our original agreement. It's a good thing that I always bring extra sets just in case I encounter problems. It proved useful! I was so prepared to take off my clothes and make the model wear it just to complete the set. Lol.

3rd look.

4th look. (my fave!)

Me and model Faith. (I love her name!)

Mich made her do that. Haha. I feel so small.

Jear with his model JM.

On standby.

Group shot! Models, Stylists, HMUAs

And the rest of the team. Photogs, Casting agent, MUA

It was a lot of fun. It's always nice to meet new people and work with familiar faces. Good news is, we were asked to be the official stylists for the openshoot that'll happen on October. So excited for that! Will announce details soon. :)

In other news ... I finally tried another courier! I've been using XEND for the longest time but now I finally decided to explore other shipping options. It all happened when I found a cute yellow romper on a multiply site. I thought it'd be perfect for my styling gig tomorrow--the Pin-Up themed openshoot. So I contacted the seller if I can buy it and get it the same day 'coz I need it by 12 noon tomorrow. She said yes, but she don't know any other courier aside from Air21. So I started looking for couriers who offer same day shipping. I then found myself in an ebay forum. That's where I discovered Metro Courier Express and Jam Global Express. It was perfect timing 'coz I've been fussing over Xend's tiny tiny pouch size. With MCE, I can fit 2 boxes of oxford shoes in one pouch!:) I was able to ship out almost all the oxford orders today--all with boxes! So watch out ladies, your new shoes might be at your doorstep anytime tomorrow. Yey. And lookie! Got my package before 6pm. Amazing.

The cute yellow romper.

And here's my new pale pink oxfords! I'm ordering more colors soon.

I'll accept orders again on the 1st week of October. Mark your calendars!:)

Anyway, I have a feeling I won't be getting much sleep again for the coming weeks coz I have a lot of activities lined up. I also got an invitation for a bloggers only dinner event on Tuesday to be held at Bizu, Greenbelt. It will be hosted by Kimberly Clark and it's for their new feminine pad launch.

Speaking of which, my friend Golda from Kimberly Clark asked me to invite 9 more girlys to this event. And you my readers, can be a part of it! :)  Just leave a comment with your name and contact details (number or email) and I'll contact you and send you the invitation.

Dress to the nines! Be fun. flirty and girly!:) Off to bed now, gotta rest for tomorrow's shoot. Ciao bellas!

P.S. Got featured at Glamour.com!!! Psyched! Thank you Tracy =)

Have a great weekend everyone!

I love Mr. Mailman & Day 4

Okay so here's another entry from the 30-day challenge. I decided to skip #3 and do #4 instead, just for today. Will then do #3 on my next post. Okay, I know I'm weird like that. So... a habit I wish I didn't have-- okay, it's gonna be my LIP SKINNING (major) and NAILBITING (minor). I swear, I can't stop. I always mess up my hard earned manicure and I can't ever wear lipstick because of it. When I do these two I fall into a deep trance (especially my lip abuse). I would only stop when a friend or whoever asks me to 'coz my lip is already bleeding. Argh. I wanna go to lip skinning rehab.

Speaking of habits. I think my only habit that I love is shopping! And speaking of shopping, here are the lovely new things I got from the mail today...

It's my hat from Chictopia Rewards! Yey!:)

Printed tights I ordered from Ebay.

Hearts Hearts:)

Bows! Love:)

Geometric skirt from fashionstopshop. Thanks Melai!

And I'm lovin' my new sheets!

Now, sleeping can be fun and colorful!

It's gonna be a busy weekend for me. Will meet with my 2 friends, whom I'd share the Port 88 booth with, tomorrow. We're gonna be discussing other details like booth design (we're going for vintage), tags, etc. Oh, it's gonna be a busy day. Hope I can document how it all goes! Then on Sunday I'll start washing the clothes myself. I don't rely on laundry shops anymore coz I don't like the smell of the clothes after. So I opted to do it my way. God give me the strength not to pass out or feel lazy (highly likely). Have a good weekend!:)

I ♥ Mr. Mailman

I just love getting packages (even if I paid for them anyway). I feel some overpowering rush as I walk from the gate to my room (where of course I then rip the package open). Such bliss.

I only bought the shirt (bottom). For a shirt--it's a lil pricey but it's worth it!

Photobucket

Tutu skirts from Plush which came at the perfect time.
I'm planning to use it to our shoot and fashion show!

I was expecting the lacey one (left) but they sent this instead.
Oh well, it still looks pretty with the bows. :)

And my new favorite dress! Thanks Bestie!

And here's how I'm planning to let my model wear the tutu skirt...

...under another one! Skirt I'm wearing here is from Archive's new line "Going Modern" which I'm taking forever to upload. Have to find time, must find time. Anyway, I like this. So Betsey Johnson, don't you think? :)
