Shiny Red Balloons

For me, my shiny red balloons would be-- new clothes, new shoes or new accessories. Haha. I'm superficial like that. Sometimes. :P Last Sunday, I woke up late (as in 4pm) due to a slight hangover from a party the previous night (will post a separate entry for that). I still decided to go to Rockwell to pick-up my prize from Rosanna's blog giveaway (1 whole outfit from The Ramp) coz I won't have any more time this week. So I threw on my comfiest clothes--oversized cardi, white dress, tan belt and pink oxfords (sorry I wasn't able to take a photo)--and off to Rockwell we went. Mich and I were so hungry coz we haven't eaten all day. But I wanted to go to Aranaz first to pick-up the prize and get it over with. Due to hunger I went to the wrong store looking for prizes they were totally clueless about. Mich wanted to die laughing. I hate you Mich. I finally went to the right store and claimed my prize--which I absolutely adore!!!:)

Here they are...

gray/white stripes dress + tan trench coat with belt

cute orange fedora + gray fringe bag = LOVE!

I originally wanted to eat at Gram's diner but we were so hungry we just ate at the 1st resto we saw--Cafe Mediterranean. It was my 1st time to dine there and I loved it.

Ordered the 5-plate sampler (chose hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tzatziki, Falafel, Kofta)

I personally love the sampler plate. I got addicted to the cucumber+mint one called Tzatsiki. I hope they sell in jars soon. Also ordered grilled beef kebab with buttered rice. I'm such a pig. :)

I love the side salad! It really cleanses the palette after.

I love this dessert--frozen chocolate (tastes like milo!yum!)

After Rockwell,  we decided to head straight to Megamall coz I wasn't  in the mood to go home yet. Of course, I had to go to Forever 21 again. Surprisingly, I got out without buying anything! And knowing me, I just had to buy something. So I dragged Mich to St. Francis Square. Mich passed time at the DVD area while I was looking around. I was able to buy a cute slouch sweater for P300 and this lovely bag for P500! =)

Such a lucky find! I love the color combination and I love that all my things could fit in it. :) So there, gotta run for now. I have an event to go to in 3 hours. Will blog about what happened to my Saturday later! So---laters!=)

P.S. To my Glamour.com feature haters---I still love you guys! Lol.:)

Weekend Madness

So last Sunday was our "big" shoot (powerful casts + designer clothes). I was a little disappointed because I wasn't able to do what I wanted. Instead, we were stuck with the clothes designers lent us. You see, I LOVE local designers and of course their creations. But when it comes to portfolio shoots I prefer "lookbook" like themes and I like using my own things because that is where your creativity and talent really comes out. Usually whenever we use designer clothes, we could only do so much. I mean, the most we could do is add accessories. There were also a lot of major boo boos but luckily we were able to come out from all of it--alive.To be honest, I was really dismayed but at least I was able to shoot 2 looks I prepared.

So, here are some teasers and BTS. Final layouts coming very soon!:)

with Honey--the shoe empire heiress hehe!:)

 Pia and her fab hair:)

HMUAs (Bambi, Anton, Mycke, Louisse) in action.

Power photogs--Mike Yu & Christine Lorico.

Me in action. Lol.

Glennys in my Miu Miu (resort '10) inspired peg!

Final touch-ups.

We wrapped up earlier as expected 'coz everyone had to leave early due to individual commitments. After the shoot we headed to Starbucks for some post shoot bonding.

FIP classmates.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say big thank yous to all the talented people who lent us their talents for this shoot. Thank you Christine Lorico for the wonderful photos. Especially to Mike Yu for being so nice and accommodating. Thank you for lending us your studio, your talent and the free food! Thanks to our talented HMUAs--Anton Patdu, Mycke Summers, Bambi de la Cruz, Louisse Dizon. And to our lovely (as in shalan) models Glenny, Jen, Angela, Rommel. Hope I could work with you guys again, soon!:)

Also in between, I snuck out and went to Rockwell bazaar to drop off Ally's (of Golddot) blazers. We also took a photo! She's really very pretty! :) Nice meeting you Ally!

Love their shoes:) (loren haggarda mode again)

Went to my grandmother's house after. Attended a thanksgiving dinner for my cousin Chesca who just passed the nursing board exam. Congratulations cuz!:) We spent the whole night playing Killer-Healer, a very interactive card game. Lol. Fun times. :)

Here's some outfit shots! And also some photos from a very short shopping stint.

Bought an oversized striped cardigan from American Boulevard!

I actually like to put my hair up sometimes.

top-thrifted, shorts-thrifted, shoes-greenhills, belt-random

The next day, Monday, Mich and I decided to just go to the mall. Went to Megamall, ate a lot, walked a lot and shopped a little. I also wore my new oversized cardi. Hee.

That's me at Megamall's shoes and bags sale at Megatrade Hall! On my way to the counter to pay for my new hot buy...

... i love it! Only bought it for P1300 ($30). Beat that! It has a built in combination lock and a free travel bag! Yey, I'm super excited to use it for an upcoming shoot! (yes, I bring luggage bags at photoshoots so I could carry around the clothes easily). Also bought rings from Forever 21 ('coz my other ring broke! tsk), red belt from F&H and a blouse form Mental. All on sale (except the rings)!

Cute layered chiffon flowy top. :)

And how cool is their bag?

I am so happy with my new luggage bag that I immediately logged on to Cebu Pacific to check if there are any seat sale. There was! In China and HK. Umm, no thanks. Maybe next year. :) For now, Thailand-Cambodia or Japan will do. Let's go Mich! :)

Dot thing, dot thing, dot thiiiing.

...yes I'm singing Lauryn Hill's song Doo Wop (that thing) while I was typing my title. Hehe! Anyway, you all know how I love mixing modern and vintage pieces. I love how past trends and styles were revamped and relaunched by different designers and brands. Then one day Mr. Mailman came and handed over a package, to my utmost delight. So amazingly pretty the bag and necklaces. :) Thank you Gold Dot and SEPA Accessories!

One of the best bags ever. Love the construction--the envelope like pocket in front, the making of the bag, and the nice chain handle. Love the black and beige combi too! Modern vintage indeed. I'm pretty sure I'd end up abusing this bag from over usage. Lol.

And these accessories are such eye and neck candies. I want to keep everything! But of course I can't and I won't. 3 of them will go to my upcoming giveaways prize pot. :) Another thing to watch out for!

And now an outfit post with my new favorite items...

bag - Golddot, necklaces - Sepa, top-Forever 21, Vest and Blazer - archiveclothing, shoes - daintyshop

Buy the arm candy HERE, and the neck candies HERE. Go go go! :)
And by the way, the blazer and vest is on sale (if not already sold) on my online store.

Again, thank you Golddot and Sepa!

Buses & Trains

I was so pissed the last couple of days because something terrible happened to me. My supposedly birthday weekend in Palawan would not anymore push through. The travel agent recommended to me by my friend   ran with all of our money. I don't know what happened but it suddenly went bad. I don't normally book tours with random agents but I trusted my friend's judgement so I went for it. She already used that agent in her previous trips and all sailed smoothly, so I really don't know what happened this time. I'm not blaming my friend though. One of her friends even booked for a HK trip and paid a whooping P120K! I feel bad for her more than I feel bad for me. :( Mich had been asking me not to stress about it. It's actually Mich's gift for me she paid for it, but I really can't help feeling bad.. P10K was her hard earned money and that makes me sad. I told her I won't stop and  I'll do everything I can to catch the bad guys, and I still believe in karma. One day, it will bite them hard. I hope their karma's me! Haha. We're already thinking of  filing a case against all those involved.

Mich had been very supportive and positive so I'm now feeling lighter. :) We decided to just push through with an out of town trip and we're going to Baguio instead. I've now moved on a little and I'm now starting to get super excited for Baguio. :)

On a lighter note, here's an outfit post!

FALL in love

One of FALL's most popular trend is the: Lace-up Boots. We might only have 2 seasons here in Manila--rainy and summer--but no heat or rain could ever stop us from dressing up! Lol. I've been looking for a nice lace up closed boots since forever and I finally found the perfect one from Melai's online store! I got confused choosing between 2 styles (coz you know I can't buy both! I'm poor!). Luckily, I found a pair exactly like one of my choices (but in brown) being sold in ebay--and in my size! So I bought it instantly. Today, I got the package. And--I've FALLen inlove! Love how the shoe fits and it looks new too. :) Guess I'm ordering this style after all but this time in black. :)

I can actually run and do jumping jacks in this. Haha!

And here's an outfit post....

romper-greenhills, shirt-thrifted, brogues - from friend, hat - ebay, accessories-accessorize & ebay

Pardon the clothes hanger. Hahaha. And thanks dad for taking my photos! :P

Good day everyone:)

Robinson's Mall Event: Great Fashion Finds!

I am very honored to be part of this grand blogger event by Robinson's Malls: The Great Fashion Finds in Robinsons Ermita. We were basically just told to check out some stores and also try the mall's new wifi service.  It was the perfect time to meet other bloggers whom I adore and also a good excuse to shop (or window shop). Hehe!

So registration started at around 11 am. I chose to bring Melai because we've been commenting on each other's blog for so long and I am also an avid fan of her online store. :) Got the chance to meet her at the Port 88 bazaar and we just hit it off instantly.

Here's us at the registration table:

The organizers were very nice and accommodating. Thank you Jeffrey Siy! They also treated us to a scrumptious lunch at KKK resto. The food was great but the service really needs improvement. Sorry.

... love their adobo flakes (I'm sure it has a different name on the menu haha) though. :)

After eating, we were then given GC's by Jeff to spend while we're doing our rounds. Our first stop was of course TOPSHOP!

These are the items which caught my fancy...

Love the bow:)

denim shirt--every girl's staple.

Love this cut-off shorts. And love that it's polka!

jeggings!

Oversized sweater? yes please.

I'm obsessed with lace so liking this is a no brainer.

Love this trouser! Nice color too (nude pink).

Melai said this shoes is so me. :P

I say THIS is so me. White blazer! For P5K+.

Also love this vest.

TOPMAN is also the place to be! There are lots of nice items there that you can fool your brother or bf's into buying--and then steal it from their closet. Haha.

Love the anchors all over!

cute bf jeans.

Sneakers that girls can buy too!

I wanted to buy this necklace but unfortunately I forgot to go back after the event. :( It's on sale for P399!

cute socks. (i have a thing for anchors)

Love the rosary necklace!

Of course, we had to try on some of the clothes. There was also a contest at the end of the event so we took as many photos as we can.

I chose to mix clothes from both shops to show you guys the versatility of their clothes. I tried on a skinny jeans from Topman and a shirt and blazer from Topshop. Melai chose to model a green dress she fell in love with.

For my 2nd look I tried on the USA flag shorts and of course my fave denim shirt! Here's me showcasing the denim on denim trend again.

I've been looking for the perfect loose tanktop. Found some in the store so I bought! Of course, using my GC. :) Total damage=P800. Still cheaper than Forever 21.

Next stop: DOROTHY PERKINS. This is where we shot our contest entry. Melai and I both love vintagey stuffs so we fell inlove with this store too.

Love the print and the collar!

Cute flats.

Our contest entry! So 50's noh?
I also love the nude colored purse!

Our next stop: ACCESSORIZE! I am a huge fan of this store because they have a wide selection--from hats, bags, purses, hair accs, necklaces, bangles, etc. If I have all the money in the world I would take home half of what's in their store. Unfortunately I don't, so I'll do what I'm good at: wait for their sale events and buy items for less than half the price. Haha. Here are my favorites:

Love the shape and print.

Melai loves this bow headband...

...and I love this--so hippieish.

Their ring selection is lovely but it's not for budget conscious shoppers like me. Priced at P750. I can only drool.

cute purse:)

Nice belt.

Hats mania.

This bag costs P3K+. Love the details though.

Love the rose detail on this pearl necklace.

Crushing on this bangle (and it's on sale!)...

And this ethnic animal "chain" necklace!

Also got to meet the store's marketing specialist--Ayet Quimpo. Also took a picture with her (photo still with Melai will post soon!) She's so nice! She also got our numbers coz they'd be launching a new collection soon and she said she would like to invite us. Sweet :)

Our next stop: ROBINSON'S DEPARTMENT STORE! Most of you may not know this, but I actually worked for Robinson's before as a category officer/buyer for Mens and Ladies Accessories. So it was exciting for me to visit what was once I called "home". :) I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to buy accessories (for a styling stint on Friday) from the store. There was only a minimal selection and not much variety. I hope they improve this. :) I was able to buy a lot from Ladies Wear though! And this is where I spent all my GC's. Haha.

Here are my loots:

Love this cute heart belt from Sunflower (P250)! I handled this brand before and the owner is the nicest. So shout out to Ms. Benny! Love your belt:) Also bought a black and white lace gloves (P60 each?) which I would use for my styling stint.

Robinson's Department Store also has a wide array of make-up brands. So for make-up enthusiasts out there this is the store to be. Bought my favorite concealer from L'oreal (P695). :) (Random: I now use my bobbi brown corrector and this true match concealer together, closest I could ever get to perfect looking eyes).

These dresses from Never Been Kissed really caught my fancy. The prints are too cute! Fits just right too. Only P329.75 each.

Love this loose tunic with gold pipings from Liberte for only P399.

I never saw or heard Mich this enthusiastic towards a store. She said she found the perfect store where she could buy shirts. I'm so happy I want to dance. Lol. She bought a plain v-neck tee from Penshoppe  which she wanted to return after she saw the brand Grab.a.Tee. They've got lots of amazing shirts and amazingly low priced too! I also went gaga over their shirts. So cheap and the styles and colors are nice!

Plain white tee she bought from Penshoppe for P399 and a baseball grab.a.tee shirt for P179!

Here are the other things which tickled my urge to shop! Sinful!

So Fab romper P699

Nude bow dress P499

So ecstatic that they now carry my favorite brand--Pink Manila! Shorts for P790

Pink Manila lace tunic

Looks familiar? I have this dress! At half the price too. Lol.

Cute shoes! Only for P399

Melai loves this!...

...and I love these cute ballet flats from Auztralian.

We both love this!!!:)

I left the store with zero GC but with a lot on hand!

Our very last stop was Howards Storage World. It's a high end store where you could buy things for your house. I wouldn't normally shop here though because of the prices but I believe the quality of the items are extraordinary.

Microwavable food containers. P700+ each. But it's on sale--50% off.

Garment racks. The racks are just add ons.

  Cutest hooks for P600+ each.

This I like and I will buy. Anything for my babies. Lol.

This whole set costs P100K+ if I remember correctly

I love the dividers on this drawer. This drawer alone costs P20K+ I think.

And the whole set costs approximately P120K.

Shoebox sets for P1200.

Laundry bag/hamper! I like! P999

Overall, the event was a success. I also love the new Wifi service of the mall. I now can surf or check my email using my nokia c3 while shopping or my laptop while eating in restos! Even if we didn't win we still felt like winners for the freebies and the smiles and laughters we all shared. Thank you Robinson's Malls!:) Til the next event.
