War zone that is Ebay.

I only had 4 hours of sleep today, as usual. My day usually starts with me ending my night work (at around 7am), tending my online store, replying to emails and queries, texting a lot of people about a lot of things. After all that, I can doze off. I usually put my phone into silent mode 'coz a slight buzz, or ring or text could easily jolt me and wake me up forever.

Yesterday, I slept late (around 11am). Even if my phone is in silent mode, sometimes subconsciously, I could still feel it when people text me and that wakes me up too. That's what happened. Arrrgh. I couldn't go back to sleep anymore 'coz I had to run to the nearest thrift shop to buy clothes that I could use for our weekend shoots. Got all dizzy looking for interesting workable pieces in a shop in Cubao where there are about hundreds of clothes rack, all mixed up, where all of the clothes were squeezed into racks til there are no spaces anymore to even move the hangers an inch sideways. It was total chaos. I tried to look for a nice bell bottom pants but failed. I cannot go over all 10 racks of ladies' pants.  Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. To make the long story short, I still left with 1 big bag of clothes. Still scored. Lol. I tried to do all the searching and buying in less than 2 hours--coz I had to check the items I was bidding on in Ebay! Got glued for hours. Lol.

Without further ado... here are some of the items I snatched from persistent co-bidders. Nothing beats the mixed feeling of triumph and then realizing you still have to pay for it. Haha.

Escada animal print oversized cardi

 Marc Jacobs cardi

 Marc jacobs coat

Can't hardly wait to finally wear them! :) Especially now that it's a little colder. And here's something that made me drool for like an hour--coz it's too pretty but I can't ever buy it.

Chanel escapade 2006. So pretty. I die. And it has the Eiffel Tower--perfection.

Oh, but there's one thing I got that I didn't pay for! Won this cute peach oversized tee via Chictopia's chic rewards! Yipee.

So that's it. Just sharing what I've been up to today. Shopping. Blech.

Of Sweet Triumphs

I haven't slept yet--well that's because I work at night--but I'll be sleeping with a huge grin on my face. Just got an email from Weardrobe that I was chosen to receive their Spotlight Blogger of the Day!!! =) Sweet.

Thank you Weardrobe! =)

On other news... I know I've been ranting and whining about how hard it is to look for a bowler hat here in Manila. And I swear I did what Nina Garcia said in her Style book about sleeping it off when you want to purchase something, and when you still want it the next day then buy it. I saw these babies on Ebay and after sleeping it off for weeks, after raking through a number of malls, bazaars and thrift shops, and failing to take home the trophy bowler hat everytime-- I knew I had to get it.

Ebay FTW!=) I paid 32 Australian dollars (with shipping) for these babies. But I know it's worth it. Can't wait to get my hands on them! Oh, the agony of waiting. It'll be the longest 2 weeks of my life. Come to mama.

And for my Day 2 post for the 30 day challenge...

Legend of my blogger name. This actually confused me a little. Does that mean I have to share the history of my name? or my blog's name? ANYWAY.

Okay my blog title DROWNING EQUILIBRIUMS came from--um, my past. A stage in my life when I was soooo emo over a lot of things. It means drowning balance literally. Figuratively, it meant--I dunno anymore I was in HS when I first came up with this. A point in my life when I was so poetic and dramatic. Now, I'm just plain happy. Heee! So there. My blogger name Aisa.Pax.Paking.Paxie are all my nicknames! :)

In other news, if you're bored and got nothing to do (which is highly unlikely but I'll take my chance anyway) please do check out my sister (whom I bear no resemblance with) at Stylebible!:) She was featured under the Bridal make-up article (click on the link!). Gela Laurel and Mia Carballo of The House of Laurel did a great job and they even made her wear a Rajo dress just for fun! Too bad I wasn't able to come with her that day, so there were no behind the scene photos. But here's how her transformation came.

Before

And with the fairy godsisters' magic...Tada!

Byutiful. And I kept teasing her re: fake smile. Haha.

Anyway, I went on a thrifting excursion today to buy stocks for the bazaar and I found a lot of AMAZING pieces! Will let you take peek see very soon!:) Also won the Tsumori Chisato dress I've been religiously eyein on in Ebay!

Now, virtual hugs to everyone!

Old Soul

First of all, Thank you Mich for giving me a laptop table. Now I can give my spine and scolio some rest. Second of all, I received a text from my teacher at fashion school and it seems that we're gonna be part of a fashion show on Saturday at a big club here in Manila! It's a surprise project (aside from the photoshoot) wherein we need to style 2 models, 1 male 1 female. And yeah, it sure was a surprise. So of course, I panicked, a little. I panicked for 15 minutes, calling up classmates etc. etc. But then I started working afterwards. I already gave away the clothes I used at our previous men's wear shoot, so I'm on a substitution quest. Also tried on numerous clothes for hours until I finally decided what look I'd showcase on the show and the photoshoot. Excited to show it to you guys soon:)

So totally unrelated, this is what kept me glued to my laptop last night...

Love the details on this wedding dress. So pretty.

Loooove all that lace!

photo grabbed from Etsy seller VeraVague

This is a lil creepy but the dress is really beautiful.

These dresses came straight from the 1800's and are being sold at Ebay and Etsy.com (except for the last one which is a 1920's dress). I'm very tempted to buy one. Lol. Creepy? Yes I know. But I love historical things. I love thinking where the item has been, who owned them, who made them. Nothing beats keeping a souvenir from the past in your closet. Hee. I'm so smitten by the history that comes with it and all the handwork that brought together the entire piece. Aylavet.

Visit Etsy and Ebay for those fabulous historical fashion finds!

How I spent my weekend.

...yes you're right. Shopping. Argh.

Since I work from home and I really don't go anywhere during weekdays. I just shop online. There's something about online shopping that's sooo addicting.

Here are my new buys:

from Daintyshop

patchwork bag from Cposhshop

Lovin' this fringe wedge from Teamchi!

And I can't wait for my nautical blazer from Ebay. :)

Nice contacts from Rockandglamour. I look different! Such big lens. Lol.

Now I feel guilty again. Haha. And I'm still checking out some online stores to buy from. Tsk. I'm eyeing on some lace up boots from Ebay and urbanog.com.

That's on my list for next week. Haha. :)

What have you been buying?

P.S. Got some lovely new stocks for Archive. I'm excited!!! Watch out next week!

it was my b-day and I'll shop if I want to

I've been making my birthday as an excuse for my rampant spending. Haha. Have to raid my closet again for something to sell as a trade off. Boo.

Here's my latest buy in Ebay:

.. I have one like this but it needs some serious repair. Good thing I saw this on Ebay! Now, I could just leave the reapiring to someone who have more time. :P I'll put my old bag on auction in Ebay probably next week.

And here's my future purchase (coz you know my bday lasts 2 weeks haha).

.... Steve Madden calf skin flats (also comes in red, argh I want both!) for only P1400! I visited a Steve Madden branch and it retails for about P3600+. I'm still saving for this!

2 weeks ago I already bought some Korean stuffs (shoes and dress) in multiply stores. I'd post them tomorrow.

Loves!

The Search Is Over

Found the perfect flats in Ebay. These are new or stored in the closet. They're exactly what I'm looking for! And they're dirty cheap too :P Pwede pa mag add ng 1 pair para maging P1K! :P

... I really hope it fits (yun lang). But then if not, I could just buy 1 million corks from SM! Gora! Loves.

Online Finds: TOPSHOP PEA COAT

... a lovely denim-ish cropped coat I bought in Ebay! It's good as new (seller said it's never used) and I only paid P300 for it. :) Of course when you buy online there's this risk that the item might be slightly smaller or bigger than your size (and it is slightly bigger even if it's a sz 6) but then I could always have it altered by my favorite tailor (yes I have my clothes altered by a man and they're perfect).

Which reminds me I have 3 dresses to pick up and 2 more for fixing (plus this). Argh.

My Smile Dress

...here's one of the dresses up for auction at my ebay store. And it makes me smile everytime I look at it. (Mich has been smiling too!). It's a black shirt dress with watercolor design handpainted on it. Supreme cuteness.

...and no that's not me!
