Food Trip & Bastille Day: VIKINGS & DELSEY

So I finally decided to stop hibernating and actually come out of the shell I've been hiding in. I had a free day last week, so I texted my GF Ana if we could do events hopping. Are you proud of me Kelly Medina? Hahaha. Anyway, our first stop was Vikings in Mega Fashion Hall. Along with a few bloggers, we had first dibs on their latest offering. No need to fly to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia na, Vikings is bringing your favorite Southeast Asian Streetfood to you every weekend this whole month of August. I am not a professional food reviewer, all I could tell you is what the food are made of and if I liked it or not. I promise to give an honest review, though! Lagi naman eh hehe. Photos!

Kerabu Sotong Kering -- composed of green mango, cucumber, red pepper, cuttlefish. Like the balance of sweetness and sourness.

Beef & Chicken Satay - i just love the peanut sauce with it! One of my favorite Asian food.

Roti & Beef Curry - this I finished! Super tasty. Reminds me of curry buns I often feast on in Singapore. The ripe mango is refreshing to the palette too.

Chicken Rice, Beef Rendang, Vegetable Biryani - I'm not a fan of Hainanese chicken but this I like! It's not "malansa" and it tastes perfect. The Beef Rendang & Biryani I liked too!

The famous Bak Kut Teh soup! Pork ribs in spices & herbal soup. My first time to try it! Not my favorite soup, it has this tinge to it 'coz of the herbs, but a nice bowl would be nice this rainy day!:)

Singaporean Fish Curry - I also liked this one! It's like tilapia (or kasi tilapia talaga siya) that's cooked in a sweet & sour sauce:) Think pinakbet but a little sweeter. Hehe.

Chili Oyster Crab -  tastes just like the chili crab I ate in Singapore! Crab in garlic-y sweet & chili sauce. Yum.

Hokkien Mee - similar to Pad Thai but Pad Thai is more sour and tasty.

Chef showing us what spices they used on some of the dishes.

Forgot the others but I see garlic and pepper!

our table hihi

Pineapple Tart - similar to cream puff but filled instead of cream, it has pineapple filling. Topped with powdered sugar and served with fruits. Yum.

Cendol (Malaysia's version of Halo-Halo!) Love this....

The amazing chefs of Vikings!

 Happy tummies! Hehe.

Later that night, Ana and I went to DELSEY Philippines' first Fete Dela France celebration in Greenbelt 3!:) In partnership with the French Embassy & HOLA Magazine, the French brand honored Bastille day with a special program full of music, wine, an exclusive sale event & introduction of their new brand innovations.

Brand history: DELSEY was founded in 1946 by Emile Delahaye & Andre & Walter Synheaves. They first manufactured leather cases for cameras. They become really popular in 1970, when they first offered their first line of rigid luggage called Delsey Airstyle.  The rest they say is history! For years, they've been offering more innovative, functional, lightweight products that makes travelling easier and convenient. Delsey perfectly fuses form & function with French flair. :)

The talented Panggo band who played jazz music!:) Clazzzz.

Welcoming remarks by Primer Group of Companies' AVP, Darwin Banez

Guest of honor, French Ambassador, Gilles Garachon

A toast for France-Philippines partnership & Delsey too...

 Cheers!

Token of appreciation for the French Ambassador! Love the luggage bag!

I also won a Delsey backpack! Thank you!:)

Excited for DELSEY's new collection this year! They will be selling luggages that have built-in weight indicators. I need this in my life.

The hard case luggage bag above is called Honore. It's sleek, functional, stylish, luxurious, innovative. The luggage of your dreams...or my dreams. Haha. I shall save for this. :)

Thank you Delsey for my own backpack and travel pack! Excited to use these on my next adventure!:)
