A Ray of Sunshine

Hi guys, just came back from our Baguio Trip! Spent most of our time reading news and watching videos on the recent catastrophe that struck our nation, typhoon HAIYAN / YOLANDA. It becomes more heartbreaking everyday as more people die from hunger, despair and disease. Even with all the warnings and preparation days before the storm, it was not enough. Manila was not shaken, but in Visayas what followed after is devastation and unimaginable tragedy. I'm still stalking CNN's website and still thinking of ways on how to help. I want to volunteer to an organization that would dispatch me to Tacloban. Red Cross kaya? Anyway, I'll be meeting with a Red Cross representative tomorrow. They're gonna be at the Bloggers United Bazaar on December 7 to collect donations, so I hope you guys could come and extend any help you could give. Will list down some fund raising efforts I know of below. Let's all stop the blame game, the hate tirades, the negativity. Let's instead spread light and positivity by extending help through donations, volunteer work, relief efforts, kind & uplifting words. Be a catalyst for change and that sparkling glimmer of hope.

katipunan baHAIYANihan is a collaborative community bazaar and arts night to help rebuild Malapascua. Think of it as a large-scale garage sale! It hopes to help out the little island by selling pre-loved goods donated by students and residents of Katipunan Avenue and forwarding the raised funds to Save Philippines Seas.

But this is not just an ordinary bazaar. There will be a bit of music, a bit of poetry, some games and a whole lot of HOHOL. It’s a space for regular Katipunan-goers to participate in the rebuilding of our nation!

WHERE: 47East, #47 Esteban Abada St., Katipunan (the street behind McDonalds, in between McDonalds and MyPlace)

WHO ELSE IS PARTICIPATING:
Fashion bloggers, some radio DJs from Magic 89.9 and Jam 88.3, musical acts, spoken word artists (names to be updated and confirmed by end of this week!)
